Exploring Creation with Astronomy
This course covers the major structures of our solar system. Starting with the sun and working toward Pluto, students will learn details about all nine (or is it eight?) planets. Topics include the Earth's moon, the asteroid belt, the Kuiper belt, and the stars and galaxies that make up God's incredible universe. Students will also learn about space travel and what it takes to be an astronaut. Activities and projects use only readily available materials. Activities include simulating the use of radar to reveal a hidden landscape, making a telescope, and making an astrometer to measure the brightness of a star.
